The Beth-El Center's mission is to alleviate homelessness and hunger in the Milford area through shelter, support services, advocacy and community education in partnership with the faith-based community and public and private organizations. Our vision is to care for and meet the needs of the hungry and homeless and to prevent and end homelessness. Beth-El Center is a 501c3, nonprofit organization that has two programs: a 34 bed homeless shelter and a food service program.

he Wallingford Emergency Shelter (WES) seeks to assist low-income families and individuals experiencing homelessness through meeting the immediate needs of shelter and food while providing in-depth case management. Our mission is primarily focused on empowering individuals and families in crisis towards independence and self sufficiency with the ultimate goal of permanent housing within 50 days for individuals and 120 days for families. WES now extends services to the initial prevention before as well as follow up care after an episode of homelessness through client centered outreach and collaborative efforts with statewide and local agencies.

And the proceeds are used to fund our Adult Rehabilitation Centers, where those in the grip of addiction find help, hope, and a second chance at life.

Helping Hands Community Thrift Store & Furniture Bank, LLC relies upon donations to stock its shelves. Our goal for the Thrift Store is to be a fundraising vehicle for our non-profit partners while the Furniture Bank provides a much-needed service to the community. Our Thrift Store is filled with items donated by the supporters of our non-profit members. Donations can be dropped off, or we offer a pick-up service for larger items like furniture and appliances.
